Notice of Data Breach Incident

On April 11, 2025, we mailed notification letters to certain Altior Healthcare patients whose personal information may have been involved in a phishing email incident.

After learning that an outside party had accessed emails and files associated with employee email accounts, we began an investigation. Our investigation determined that the unauthorized access occurred intermittently between July 14, 2024 and January 8, 2025. On March 14, 2025, after conducting a forensic analysis of the incident and a review of the information involved, we determined that some patient information may have been included in the emails and files that were accessed by the outside party.

The emails and files contained patients’ names and may have included some or all of the following: patients’ dates of service, dates of birth, provider names, medication information and/or information related to their care.  Importantly, this incident resulted from a phishing email, and it should be noted that only employee email accounts were involved in the incident, not our medical records systems or other systems directly related to patient care.

We apologize for any concern or inconvenience this may cause. Patients or parents of patients whose information may have been involved are encouraged to review statements received related to the patient’s healthcare. If they identify anything unusual related to the healthcare services or the charges for services, they should contact the healthcare entity or health insurer immediately.

We take this matter very seriously. After detecting this unauthorized access, we took immediate steps to identify and contain this incident and will continue to implement and evaluate enhanced safeguards and security measures to further protect our systems and reduce the likelihood of a similar future event.

We remain committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information, and apologize for the concern this may cause. We also established a dedicated, toll-free call center to help answer questions about the incident.
